  Please bring a mat and a small blanket along with you.  We have the class at a member's home Overijse.  There is plenty of parking out front and public transport nearby.  We can have a tea or coffee afterwards as well!

  The AWCB is delighted to again have been invited to the wonderful private Le Val Richer estate in Normandy for this Members Only event (members can bring 1 guest).  Stay in this private, family chateau, eat dinner at 8pm, tour the Normandy beaches and museums, sample the local cider, relax with a good book and enjoy the superb luxury of the Val Richer in the company of your Club friends.

  Agenda

  Breakfast, lunch and dinner (with wine) is included, along with wonderful rooms and excellent company with your fellow Club members and friends.  Optional tours are being arranged for each day as follows (all costs payable locally and using your own cars for transport):

  • Thursday - Arrive, walk the grounds, relax and settle in
    
  • Friday - Garden day!  We shall visit some wonderful gardens and have crepes
    
  • Saturday - Day at the seaside, visiting Duville and other beautiful local towns on the sea
    
  • Sunday - Cider & Calvados!  Followed by lunch & then a much needed walk!

  As each room is slightly different in price, below is a guide only.  Please note that all prices include your meals taken in the House.  All arrangements will be handled individually by email.  Those of limited mobility will always be given the first choice.

  Arrangements

  • Your initial booking fee covers the costs of the Club and makes a small contribution towards the Val Richer maintenance fund
  • A dedicated WhatsApp Group will be set up for all registrants for final arrangements and to enable Members to arrange car pooling between themselves
  • All Registrants will be contacted by the Secretary after registration to discuss room availability and preference; note that priority for accessible rooms will go to those of limited mobility
  • You do not have to stay the whole time; you can choose to arrive and/or leave on a different day, depending on your availability

   We will spend two wonderful days in Paris, staying over the Saturday night.  

  The Saturday will include a historical tour focusing on the historic relationship between Paris and the then emerging United States in the 18th century, followed by a dinner in the Eiffel Tower restaurant.  Day 2 will focus on French luxury, including the Dior Museum, Museum Jacquemont-Andre and an afternoon tea.

  Friday 7th November to Sunday 9th November 2025

  The AWCB is proud to announce that it will host the 2025 Region 4 FAWCO Conference in Brussels, Belgium.  Clubs from throughout Region 4, plus senior members of FAWCO globally, will meet for two days of interesting talks, networking events, best practice sharing and several exciting social events.

  AWCB MEMBERS are able to attend either some or all the event; further we need a LOT of volunteers to help organise!

  The event will start with dinner at Le Roi d'Espagne, overlooking the Grand Place in Brussels.  Saturday will be full of interesting events and speakers, on topics ranging from Brussels history and architecture, through FAWCO guest speakers, a chance to get to know members from others Clubs and a special event on Women's Rights in the EU!  A gala dinner the Saturday night will be followed by a guided tour of Brussels by an expert guide, rounding off a full weekend of exciting activities.

  Join member Betty Michiels to visit this historic Catholic school which used to be a private girl's school with many beautiful rooms, paintings and a special wintergreen.  Betty, her mother and 3 children all went to high school here so you can join her for a walk down memory lane!  Afterwards we will have lunch nearby in the village.
