Stone Manor Coronation Party

British grocer Stonemanor is hosting a Coronation Garden Party at its Everberg store on 7 May, with the support of the Brussels British Community Association (BBCA).

Marking the coronation of King Charles in the UK the previous day, the festivities will kick off at 11.00 and continue until at least 18.00 in the gardens and car park of the well-known expat retailer. Large tents and covered seating are planned so that the merrymaking can continue whatever the weather.

Stonemanor is offering free cream teas, accompanied by a cup of tea. Ice creams are an alternative for children. The teas proved popular at the store’s Jubilee party in 2022 and once again will continue to be served until supplies run out.

Other enticing eating options include a BBQ provided by a special partner and the presence of the Simply British Fish and Chip Truck. A stand with cake and that seasonal favourite, strawberries and cream, are among the sweet options. Refreshments are laid on with a bar and a special stand pouring both Pimm’s cocktails and a non-alcoholic version. Visitors will need cash for all of these food and drink facilities.

On the entertainment front, live music is to be played all day by a succession of bands, a bouncy castle will keep the little ones suitably distracted and a Grenadier Guard marching around the site is ideal for British-themed photo opportunities. Meanwhile, partygoers will be invited to participate in a charity tombola with a bunch of prizes up for grabs.

The event is raising money for the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF). The charity was chosen by organisers to reflect the nature and conservation interests of King Charles.
