Musicale Reine Elisabeth and the Concours Reine Elisabeth (Queen Elisabeth Competition) , she has been able to organise an attractive trip to the Chapelle with an interesting program. THE CHAPELLE MUSICALE REINE ELISABETH

“Offshoot of ideas about musical training initiated by Eugène Ysaÿe 20 years earlier, the Music Chapel was inaugurated on 12 July 1939 by Queen Elisabeth. It is one of three musical institutions (the others being the Queen Elisabeth Competition and Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, the residence orchestra of the Queen Elisabeth Hall) dedicated to the former Queen.” (Wikipedia)

The Chapelle in its impressive Art Déco building complete with original furniture and interior decoration plus its modern addition hosts a great number of teaching, rehearsal and concert rooms and is the temporary home for year-round residents (currently 15) and the participants of the Queen Elisabeth Competition during the weeks of their seclusion before the event. Its main function is being a high-level music school for the most talented students from all over the world on a number of different instruments.

The Chapelle has a rich and wide-ranging program of concerts every month. The building is not publicly accessible except for tours and guests. We will experience the “musicality” of the building where you hear people practicing and rehearsing in all corners.
