Dear wine lovers,
In September our wine tasting will feature eight good and great wines from Cyprus.
Cyprus has been a cradle of wine production since 6000 BC. Its wines reached many European courts via the Crusaders. The island, which is closer to Turkey and Syria than it is to western Europe, continues to cultivate grapes from indigeneous varieties including Xynisteri, Mavro, Maratheftiko, Promara and Yiannoudi, as well as Shiraz and other international varieties. It has some active vines that are more than 100 years old (The photos here shows the vineyards of two of the wine producers we will taste.).
The tasting will include two white wines, five reds and a famous dessert wine from three different Cypriot wineries, Tisakkas, Zambartas and Vlassides. As usual, the wine will be paired with good food prepared by the Comptoir Rodin. There will be plenty of vegetarian options.
The tasting is limited to 30 people so register soon to reserve your place!
