Dear wine lovers,
I promise I'm not just picking on France.... But with most of the so-called "international" grape varieties planted world-wide being French, it's inevitable to ask, why bother?
The reason is simple: different terroirs can produce completely different wines from the same grapes. The most famous example is New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs, which are completely different from most French Sauvignon Blancs.
In this blind tasting we'll test eight wines made from French grape varieties, four of them made in France, and the other four made in Greece. We'll taste them in pairs, one French, one Greek, declare a winner for each round, and an overall winner for the tasting at the end. Tasting the wines blind will ensure that you are swayed by taste and pleasure, not by the label you see. We'll tell you what you've been drinking after you've tasted and rated each wine.
The tasting will take place at a nice Greek wine and tapas bar downtown, TapaSoif. There will be plenty of food to go with the eight wines.
Participation is limited to the first 30 people who sign up. Book early to reserve your spot!
I hope to see you there!
