In my family, recipes are important. Every time a sister, cousin, daughter, niece or granddaughter gets married, we put together a collection of family recipes in a homemade cookbook. It is a symbol of two families coming together.
While Rendez-vous does not pretend to be as symbolic as a family cookbook for a new bride, we thought it would be fun to create a forum for swapping recipes.
After all, it can be fun to find something new to try in the kitchen. It is also a way to share ideas for recreating some of the things we might be missing from the United States.
